About

I grew up in New York and after finishing high school I chose to continue my education traveling abroad. I lived on a kibbutz in Israel for a year then in France and then the UK until returning to live here in France in 1992. I discovered pinhole photography in London and pursued this interest at art school Bradford. The course was firmly grounded in « community arts » which has been an important and inspirational part of my photographic practice ever since.

Today the world is saturated with images and I feel it is essential to create images that will cause reflection, create human connection and and touch people. I fell in love with pinhole photography more than 30 years ago and still feel inspired by the process which I have grown to know well. From making cameras from recycled materials to the slow and intuitive way of making pictures, and the quality of the images resonate with how I wish to explore the world and express it.
